Chief of Police Ricky Martin began his tenure as Chief on December 5, 2017.

He launched his law enforcement career in 1994 with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.

• Broussard Police Department

• United States Department of Defense

• Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) (Contracted employee during the BP Oil Spill Investigations)

• President of Southwest Chiefs of Police Association

• Member of Louisiana Chiefs of Police Association

• Board Member of the Law Enforcement Executive Management Institute (LEEMI) Board

• Member of the Louisiana Legislative Committee

Chief Martin contributes thousands of hours of training and experience to the Police Department in his role as Chief.
